In 1993, for the start of the first Transat Jacques Vabre, the Parlier, Peyron and Gautier are in the game. Among them, Vincent Riou, 21. A youngster who tackles his first Atlantic crossing aboard Maitre CoQ and buckle despite a large waterway. Its competitors salute this young sailor extraordinary tenacity that just tasted off, without knowing that he will blow his talent by taking the Vendée Globe a few years later. Sharpened physically, Vincent combines browser features , trimmer, strategist, technician, handyman ... in addition to his nine victories on the IMOCA circuit, his record proves its versatility: the Laser in the Solitaire du Figaro, the First Class 8 oceanic multihull Diam 24, he did everything or almost. At 42, Vincent is certainly in the fullness of his art, as he was able to demonstrate by taking the last Transat Jacques Vabre.
