Saint-Malo

​For the first time in The Transat bakerly’s long histroy, Saint-Malo will host a “warm-up” leg between France and the start line in Plymouth - starting 23rd April at 2000 CET. The pre-race passage will be an exciting event and the city looks forward to presenting The Transat fleet in the “Fosse aux Lions”.

Taking place on the Vauban Bassin, local schools will race and demonstrate windsurfing and Optimist and Open 5.70 sailing.

THURSDAY 21ST APRIL

Classic boat day - all day
Classic sailing boat demonstrations and experiences on the Vauban Bassin. Reserve your spot at the Port Vauban Tourism Office.

The Transat bakerly dock out - 1730
The Transat bakerly fleet will exit Saint Malo via the lock, leaving Vauban Bassin and heading out to the start line.

The warm-up leg start - 2000
The Transat bakerly warm-up leg to Plymouth will start at 2000 from Plateau de la Rance, between Dinard and Le Môle des Noire.

Arriving from Paul Feval car park
This car park is located at the entrance of the city, close to Marville Hippodrome. Here you can park and catch the shuttle to Intra Muros. The shuttles will take you to the Port Vauban Tourism Office, at the base of the battlements. From here, you will be able to walk to the race village by walking along Saint Louis Quay. The Transat bakerly fleet will be moored along this quays, so look out for the boats!

Arriving from Saint Vincent underground car park
The underground car park offers 481 spaces and is just at the entrance of Intra Muros. From here you can rent buggies, umbrellas and bikes too. Once outside on Saint Vincent esplanade, you can walk to village via Saint Louis Quay.

Arriving from Saint-Malo SNCF train station
From Saint-Malo train station to the Race Village is a 15 to 20 minute walk via Louis Martin avenue. From the station you can also catch a bus to take you to the base of the port’s battlements, Intra Muros.
