The emotional roller coaster continues for the journalist turned sailor who scored a great 11th on his first Vendee Globe in 2016-17 and was eighth on this race in 2016 when it was so much smaller. His challenge for this upcoming race was dealt a body blow when his boat went on fire and he had to abandon it during the Route du Rhum in 2022. He had to refocus his aspirations and bougtht the former 2007 build Ecover 3. 23rd today keeps him on course for his third Vendee Globe and is a platform to build from.
