Jean Le Cam (Tout commence en Finistère – Armor Lux) notified the Race Direction of his retirement from The Transat CIC at 1508hrs. (UT) for personal reasons. As indicated by his team the day before yesterday, the veteran racer has been required to stay home ashore but had to cross the starting line of The Transat CIC at 1330hrs local time France to follow the qualification requirments for the Vendée Globe, one of the race regulations requiring sailors to take the start of a solo transatlantic race which is on the IMOCA calendar in 2024.
